"For me, Art is ever-fresh,
and I'm blessed to find inspiration daily here
in the Pacific Northwest. I feel my best work is
the result of a nudge by a
'Higher' Spirit, and I Thank my Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ for the
opportunity to express my love of life in this way."

Hello Art Lovers,
My Artistic Studies, humorously named by my husband
as "Idyll Moments" is anything
but idle! My painting experiences are almost always
touched with the 'idyllic' nature of a spiritual journey.
Presently I teach and design in Acrylic
and Acrylic Gouache. Over the years, I have also
worked in several other mediums, which can be seen under
the section "The Early Years."
I have chosen Decorative Art as my main format for artistic
expression because I appreciate its "positive"
attitude, which consistently brings pleasure and joy to
the viewer. These "simple things in life"
are explored with a creative touch.
I have my roots in a Fine Art background, and
wherever possible Color, Composition, and Style are a
stimulating part of the classroom experience. Encouraging
students to explore their ‘personal style” of expression
allows them to find growth as individuals. This
method of teaching also keeps me enthused as an instructor.
Although teaching and designing for
the Decorative Artist keeps me very busy, I also enjoy
the "one of a kind" commissions in Portraiture
and Landscape painting that blesses my studio from time
to time. These painterly experiences challenge
me to grow and develop in my own personal style.
In 12 years of working in the Decorative Painting field,
I have attained Certification in the Society of Decorative
Painters (CDA - 1996), and recently took the Certification
in ONE Stroke to encourage more Beginners to find their
painting expression. I have over 50 Pattern Packets,
a first book, and several magazine projects published.
Most of these paintings are visible on this website.
I hope you find what you are looking
for; but if not, please write to me as I would
love to work with you to turn your visions into
"Idyllic Moments.”
Sincerely, Jill Paris Rody, CDA
